Hairpin Lace Blanket
I'm sure you have all heard me talking about the blanket I have been working on, well I finished it Saturday. So naturally I had to put it on here for all to see and to prove that I really did finish it ! In the one photo is just a section of the blanket, my color is not very well but the strips are pink and brown. The other photo I wanted to show a close up so you could see that the center is only a sc and the strips are joined by pulling 3 loops of one color through 3 loops of the other color. There are several ways to join these strips to produce different styles of items. To create a "wavy" appearance, you can take 10 loops and do 5 sc through them, then *take 2 loops and make one sc through those* repeat from * to * 4 more times. You should have one large group with 10 loops and 5 groups with 2 loops in each, so therefore that creates the wave effect. Anywaaaaay, this is a simple project to make and the end result is very impressive, so watch the video below to see how to start it. This video is from YouTube and I think she did a great job with it. In my post using the Hook Lite I am working with my loom so you might take a look at that also. I hope you enjoy the movie !

It turned out beautifully.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe it. I made one of these once and the colors were the same!!! What are the odds!! The blanket looks really nice.
ReplyDeleteMolly, I have a major problem sticking to a pattern as written. I don't think it is creativeness I think it is more due to laziness. LOL! Thanks though for your kind thoughts.
ReplyDeleteMolly,
ReplyDeleteYou make it look so easy and I love your accent. Are you originally from the east coast?
This looks really interesting Molly - thanks for sharing - I haven't tried this yet, but will put it on my list!! **Kim**x
ReplyDeleteGreat fun Molly! You always have something on here so different!
ReplyDeleteI thought it was hairpin the other day when you posted.
Hugs and love Suex
Gosh, that's pretty. I remember learning the basics of hairpin lace as a child but never did anything with the strip I made. I may have to revisit this!
