I used to do a great deal of beadwork and I have always sewn and crocheted but what was my favorite thing? I honestly have no idea. But I do know that I love to crochet and add beads in there also. The photo above is just another gift for my trunk of things. The scarf is made from Lion Brand Suede yarn and I used a 'J' hook, it is 4" wide x 50" long. I love working with this yarn, it is so soft and cuddly feeling, I am sure I will make more items using it.
It's made with just a simple double crochet so it can't get any easier than that. I'm sure I'll make another one and who knows what color it will be. But I'll be sure to post a photo of it. Enjoy.
This is very pretty. Do you add the beads as you go or add them after you crocheted your project?
ReplyDeleteLooks beautiful makes me want to feel it. I love suede too.. and I adore beads!! :) thanks for visitin gme too.. Debb
ReplyDeleteTips, please on adding beads. I made a hat, added beads, after stringing them on the yarn first. I didn't string enough, added one by one at the end. The hat looked a little sad, the beads weren't tight enough. Thanks, Alma
ReplyDeleteMolly,
ReplyDeleteYour scarf is beautiful. I love to crochet..tho my choice is usually afghans, but somewhere I have a pattern for crocheted "pixie booties" with beads, for all sizes..and on the reverse side, are the instructions for the same beaded booties in knit. I'm not a great knitter, but these are easy enough for even me.. I'll have to get the pattern and post for the crocheted shoes with the beads.
They're just as cute as can be..
Just found your blog today as I was blog hopping. Brings back my days of crocheting.. When I was small my mother taught me to crochet.
ReplyDeleteNow at 61 I am still making things. I just learn to knit as well.
I will return to your blog often .. Hugs
Susan
