Hi everybody, I don't think our weatherman knows what the month is because we are getting snow one day and then it rains the next. Now I don't know about where you live but most places have snow in the winter and April is known for its showers. Last time I checked this was May, which brings me to the next topic.
On to something a little more fun to talk about. Crocheting. I know you have all heard me chat about Crochet Soiree, it is a great crocheting place for chatting, store for buying things, and free patterns. What more could you ask for? We had a CAL last month and everyone made a scarf using Tamara Gonzaless pattern. Everybody that participated had their name put together and we had 3 names drawn for 3 fantastic prizes. I was lucky, shoot very lucky, to have won the biggest prize. It was Crochet Hooks, 3 balls of yarn, and a Crochet Soiree tote bag. It was the greatest thing I have ever won.
Now for May we are having another CAL, this time. This time we are making a Berry Trivet or Coaster and a Cute Little Kitty, and I have made and donated the bag you see above as one of the prizes. So please join us and have some fun, and enjoy a bunch of chatting along with it. The CAL ends on May 31 so you still have time to enter.
See you there!

Molly, I have always wanted to do a CAL but I have no idea how to go about doing it! Do you have to sign up? After you make your project, then what? Do you keep it, send it to someone?? Any help would be appreciated. If it's easier, feel free to send me an e-mail at azbelle3@yahoo.com. Thanks so much :)

Hi Molly.. I've got my strawberry trivet posted, and now I'm starting the beanbag kitty! I think I've got submitting projects down cold now! (ha! ha! I can LAUGH NOW!)... Love the bag you won.. So CUTE!!!! Great Colors for the upcoming Summer season!! Congrats! ~tina
ReplyDeleteGreat Bag!
ReplyDeleteOh, what an adorable bag. Is it lined with that red polka dot material, like the handles? It's so cheerful looking.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing that link for Crochet Soiree with us. I joined and really want to participate in the CAL. I want to make those gooseberries coasters, only I have to buy some crochet cotton. I usually use 4-play worsted weight yarn, maybe sports, but that's as thin as I want to go, but these are so cute...
Thanks again for telling me (us) about it.
Doris :-)
I love the bag you made. It is so happy. I would love one!!! I will have to look at joining in with Crochet Soiree once I am a little more caught up. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThat is a GREAT bag! Did you use a pattern? Is it available to everyone?
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff here! When i was little my grandmother "Bama" started to teach me. I enjoyed it but never learned beyond a small square. wish i had!
