Okay, I Lied

I promised myself that I wasn't going to work on anything until I finished my afghan....well I lied. I decided I just had to do something else if only for just a few minutes. So naturally I go to my yarn stash and look at it and think---nothing happened. Now I am in real trouble, my mind has quit on me. Then I thought I will just drag out some patterns and go through them and maybe I will get an idea. All of a sudden there was a 100 watt light bulb over my head, I saw my patterns for the rugs, baskets, potholders made out of fabric strips. This was it, so now off to get my fabric strips. Years ago I made myself get into the habit of cutting my leftover fabric into strips whenever I finished a sewing or quilting project. That way they would be ready whether I needed them for quilting or crocheting. So I got them all out and started to work, it didn't take long and I had this heart pretty much on its way. I decided to make a hot pad and add it to my gift stash that I work on all year. Here it is all finished and I have cooled down enough that I can go back to my afghan prison *LOL* Hopefully I'll be able to add a photo of it on here tomorrow. Take care my friends

  1. Rick's grandma crocheted rag rugs. They were in pretty bad shape by the time I could claim them, so they had to go. :(

  2. That's so neat Molly. I tried the strips of fabric rugs but it can ger darn expensive even if you buy the long strips of cheap fabric. I never though of using my own fabrics.. thanks! It looks great.

  3. I like that a lot. I never have crocheted fabric but I have a pattern for a rug I want to make one of these days. Is it harder than using yarn?

  4. Oh my goodness, I had to laugh when you said "afghan prison". I feel like I'm in quilter prison right now. I have a quilt that I HAVE to get finished and it is consuming every spare moment. I hate when the fun gets sucked right out of it. Thanks for the chuckle. Wishing us both luck to reach the finish line soon!
