Quick Crocheted Butterfly

Yes, I know this is not the time to be making butterflies. But, I think they are so pretty. I ran across this site and she has made a great tutorial that takes you step by step to make this. Once you get one done, you will be hooked. No pun intended on the 'hook' part. They are sort of like Granny Squares and then you fold them in half and Ta-Da, you've got one done. Now she goes through and stitches here and there but I am too lazy. I folded it in half and then stitched it together where the wing dips in some. I still have to add the antennea but I'm going to use pipecleaners instead of the yarn and I forgot to get them when I was in town. Naturally the link for this little project is down below, and I hope you enjoy them as much as me. I also finished another scarf, but I'm sort of stuck as to how to finish the 2 ends. I'm thinking about adding some beads to the fringe, then I think no just plain fringe, then I think how about a row of shells, then I think no that's not enough. You know I was better off while I was still making it, I didn't have these decision problems then. I'm thinking about making a hooded scarf next, I have the pattern I want to use but I haven't chosen the yarn yet. Oh, shoot. more decisions. I think maybe I should just go to bed. So as Scarlett O'Hara would say, "I'll think about that tomorrow."

  1. Molly, you are one busy lady making all of these lovely crocheted items. I am sure everyone that receives your hand made gifts will feel the thoughtfulness that you have put in every stitch. Your bells and butterflies are adorable. Patricia

  2. Any time is a good time to make butterflies. Right now the outside world is so drab, no leaves on the trees and the grass is all brown so we could all use some color.
