Soft Handled Crochet Hooks

I have a great deal of trouble getting a good grip on my crochet hooks. My therapist gave me this big piece of round foam that my hooks would slide down into and then I could hold onto them. Well, since I have gotten more use of my hands that big piece of foam is more trouble than it is help. So off I go to Wally World and the school supply section. I found these pencil/pen grips, 20 to a package for $2.87--WOW! I was so thrilled, I was dying to get home and try them out. Now being the goofy person that I am I tried to match the color hook to the color grip....geesh! One thing I did discover was that I needed to put some tape around some of the hooks so the grips would stay on better. I even have them on my small steel crochet hooks, and did I say how squishy they feel? I have a problem of holding onto to the plain hooks, they just slide right out of my hand. But not with these on they don't, they are super easy to hold onto and so very soft. So if anybody has this same problem I give these grips a big "thumbs up" on price, easy to put on, and super easy to get use to. I don't think you could ask for anything better. Take care.

  5. I'm so glad you discovered the squishy little grips! My mother used the same exact thing on her crochet hooks in the early days of her dealing with ALS. They made a huge positive difference for her. She could continue to crochet as her disease advanced. Hope you have many productive years of crocheting!
