Anyway, I started on my washcloth yesterday and finished it up today. I used Sugar 'n Cream in variegated shades of blue and made it using the hdc and the cross hdc stitch. I worked 2 rows of regular hdc and then 2 rows of crossed hdc, I really like the way it turned out, I may have to make some more and add them to my gift suitcase. I know that sounds goofy but I took a big suitcase and turned it into a place to save all my gifts that will fit in there. Pretty soon I may have to get another suitcase because this one is really getting full.
Sharlene over at http://solarcookingathome.blogspot.com/ gave me a very good tip a while back. She makes a crocheted pocket and adds it to the back of her washcloths, then there is a place to put a very nice bar of soap, whether it is for her own use or added in when she gives it as a gift. I thought that was so clever, I think I'm going to have to grab that idea and do it myself.
Below is a photo of the washcloth that I just finished, minus the pocket, I'll show you that when I get it added. Take care and have a great day.
You have really inspired me to get going and do up some of those washcloths. I have just the yarn too. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteWell girl, you are really on the ball! I'm still quilting these blasted swirls on Libby's quilt. I thought I was headed down the 4th and last side, but found out this morning I'm only working on the 3rd side. Bleh.
ReplyDeleteI really don't have the time right now but I've got to get busy on some crochet. I really want to do that hooded scarf you made last year. It looked so good on you that it inspired me. I'm gonna keep on and have a cold head this Winter when I could have a hooded scarf like yours. boo hoo.

That's one of the places I keep my crocheted items. I have this huge suitcase my dad gave me the last time I went to Germany and now it houses all my little crocheted items. There's no reason a suitcase should sit empty when not in use. Even if I didn't crochet, I'd fill it up with stuff. I have a small apartment and need to use every single unoccupied space.
